- What are tank reconciliations?
- Tank reconciliations are the monitoring of the fuel inventory in the underground storage tanks compared to your daily sales and deliveries.
- How can I get a copy of the DEC regulations?
- See the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation website at www.dec.ny.gov and click on the tab labeled Regulations.
- What types of petroleum equipment are you able to service?
- Reid Petroleum service techs are certified to install and repair Gilbarco and Wayne dispensers, Verifone Ruby controllers, Incon automatic tank gauges, Pyro-Chem fire suppression systems, as well as being certified on Estabrook EZ-3 underground storage tank and piping tightness testing equipment. We also have National Assoctiaion of Cathodic Engineers (NACE) certified cathodic protection testing and installation capabilities.
- What is a petroleum distributor?
- Petroleum distributors purchase fuel from the major oil companies and “distribute” or market it through various outlets. A distributor may resell to smaller distributors or sell directly to retail outlets and commercial accounts.
- What is the difference between major Branded Fuel and Unbranded Fuel?
- Branded fuel is sold with major oil marketing and merchandise program support including signs, credit cards, merchandise, promotions, advertising, etc. Unbranded leaves all that to you and your supplier.

- Yes, Reid Petroleum can assist you in acquiring new equipment either by selling to you directly or, we may be able to customize a supply contract that will allow you to receive new equipment with little or no money outlay.
- What is cathodic Protection?
- Cathodic Protection (CP) is a technique to control the corrosion of a metal surface by making that surface the cathode of an electrochemical cell. It is a method used to protect metal structures from corrosion. Cathodic protection systems are most commonly used to protect steel, water and fuel pipelines and storage tanks. steel pier piles, ships, offshore oil platforms and onshore oil well casings.
- What is vapor recovery?
- Vapor recovery is a system used to capture the vapors from gasoline and prevent them from entering the atmosphere when delivering gasoline to a storage tank or dispensing gasoline into a vehicle.
- What are store image standards?
- Standards designed to ensure that the customer has a good buying experience at the store. These standards include store cleanliness, lighting, merchandise availability and friendly store personnel.
- What affects the price of a gallon of gas?
- The costs of producing and delivering the product are the basis for the price of a gallon of gas. These costs include the cost of crude oil, refinery costs, distribution costs and taxes. Seasonal issues such as supply and demand are the main reason the price of gas fluctuates. When crude oil is in short supply or the demand for gasoline rises, the price of a gallon of gas will also rise.
